Storefront Signs
Each new tenant in the retail centers along Belt Line, Josey, Trinity Mills and Old Denton needs a storefront sign that fits the landlord's criteria, and Carrollton requires a separate permit for each sign.

Carrollton is home. Our head office and manufacturing facility sits on I-35E, so a Carrollton sign is built a short drive from where it will stand. We survey, design, permit, fabricate and install signs for the city's retail centers, business parks and industrial buildings.

Carrollton sits where I-35E meets the President George Bush Turnpike, and much of its commercial property is built for work: industrial and flex buildings and business parks, alongside retail centers on Belt Line Road, Josey Lane, Trinity Mills Road and Old Denton Road.
Three DART Green Line stations, Downtown Carrollton, Trinity Mills and Frankford, anchor the city's transit center districts, where newer mixed-use development sits near the historic downtown square.
That mix shapes the sign. A tilt-wall building needs letters sized for a freeway frontage road. A strip center tenant needs a storefront sign that fits the landlord's criteria. A site near a DART station, or on Belt Line Road near downtown, may fall under its own set of sign provisions.

Permits
Carrollton's Building Inspection department handles sign permits, and applications are accepted with the permit fee through the city's CityServe portal.
The city's submittal requirements for signs call for a rendering with enough building context to show the sign's height, width and area, a sign specification or construction detail, and a site plan with the sign location. Freestanding signs must show the setback from the curb, and each sign requires a separate permit.
Sign rules are in the Sign Ordinance, Chapter 151 of the Carrollton Code of Ordinances. It applies citywide, with separate provisions for the Transit Center districts next to the Downtown Carrollton, Trinity Mills and Frankford DART stations and for PD-169 along Belt Line Road between Myers Street and Josey Lane.
Requirements depend on the sign, the site and its zoning. We confirm the current rules for your address before design and handle the application for you.

No. Carrollton's submittal requirements state that each sign requires a separate permit, so a wall sign and a monument sign on the same property are two applications. We prepare each package with its own drawings.
They may. Carrollton's Sign Ordinance has separate provisions for the Transit Center districts next to the Downtown Carrollton, Trinity Mills and Frankford stations, and for PD-169 along Belt Line Road near downtown. The city asks applicants to check the zoning map first, and we do that before any design work.
The city asks for a rendering with enough building context to show the sign's height, width and area, along with the height and width of the placement area. It lets the reviewer check the sign against the wall it sits on. We build that rendering from site survey measurements, so it matches the real facade.
Yes. Industrial and flex buildings usually need letters or a logo high on the wall, a monument sign at the drive and directional signs for visitors and deliveries. We survey the site, size the letters for how the building is approached and handle the permit.
No. Carrollton is where our signs are built, and we install them across the Metroplex. Nearby, that includes Dallas, Richardson, Plano and Frisco.
